Connecting Europe Facility Call for proposals 2022. What’s new?

With a total budget of €33.71 billion, The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is a key funding instrument of the European Union, whose aim is to promote growth, jobs, and competitiveness through infrastructure investment at the European level.

Supporting the development of high performing, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services, projects co-funded under CEF fill the missing links in Europe’s energy, transport and digital backbone.

The programme is divided into three sectors:

Transport

Supports investments in building new transport infrastructure in Europe or rehabilitating and upgrading the existing one

Energy

Supports investments in building new cross-border energy infrastructure in Europe or rehabilitating and upgrading the existing one

Digital

Invests in digital connectivity infrastructures of common European interest

The new call for proposals for CEF – Transport opened on September 13th 2022. Funds available amount to €5.12 billion for projects targeting new, upgraded and improved European transport infrastructure.
